The Midland M5-CB-589 is a mobile transceiver from the M-series, this time featuring a black box unit and a display microphone that allows for full control of the device and also has a built-in speaker,
So you can install the so-called “black box” discreetly, leaving only the microphone with the display visible. Ideal for vehicles with limited space.
The actual “BlackBox” is extremely compact, measuring 10.2 x 10 x 2.5 cm, and should fit in any vehicle.
The backlit LCD displays all important operating statuses and indicates the channel, reception signal strength, and much more. The display backlight is adjustable in seven different colors.
The built-in speaker sounds good. There is also a connection for an external speaker.
What’s particularly interesting is the microphone/headphone jack on the right side of the unit, which allows you to use headsets or microphones with a Kenwood connection.
